The fun of fondue gets a sleek and convenient makeover with this Cuisinart electric fondue maker. Designed for use with oil, broth, chocolate, or cheese, the set combines powerful electric heat with easy temperature control and handsome but tidy construction. The 3-quart stainless-steel bowl is lined with nonstick coating for keeping heated foods from sticking, and the stand, bowl, ring, and temperature probe all assemble and disassemble easily. A combination of finishes--brushed on the bowl and ring, mirror on the stand and handles—gives the unit a contemporary flair. Heat up is efficient here--getting oil to 375 degrees F takes between 10 and 15 minutes. Best of all, you can change the temperature setting with a simple turn of the dial to adjust for different ingredients or the passage of time. For clean up, run the entire set (temperature probe and cord removed, of course) through the dishwasher. A set of eight color-coded fondue forks is also included. My wife and I have been looking for an electric fondue pot for years and haven't been able to find one that wasn't ridiculously expensive. The sale on this one was terrific (I think we paid $50 and the MSRP was $120) but I would have been happy with it even if we had paid closer to retail. It is very well made and works perfectly.

I bought this a while back from Amazon. I read many of the reviews here on Amazon before deciding to purchase this unit. We have been quite pleased with the easy of use. We have used it quite often in the past 6 months. It heats quickly and evenly, it cleans easily. The only drawback is the short cord, but even if the cord were longer you still have a cord. I am extremely happy with fondue that we make in the pot. I would gladly serve it to friends and family. I hope you will enjoy this fondue maker as much as my family has.

We love this fondue pot. I've made both cheese and a chocolate fondue with fruit for my son's birthday. It was a big hit! I especially like the dial temperature control. When turned up or down, the contents adjusted very quickly.

Just bought one of these and used it this evening. Out of the package the partial cover used to rest the forks on didn't actually fit the bowl and teetered and fell in repeatedly. The temp is difficult to get fine enough control over when making a cheese fondue. Your choices are lumpy and semi-solid or full boil and trying to stick. Not easy to clean up and store because of the permanent attachment to the heating element/stand. It comes without a lid, which is a little annoying. And the most annoying feature is that the cord is phenomenally short and magnetically attached. The weight of the extension cord was enough that the slightest jostling of the pot made it break away over and over again while trying to use it. The magnet isn't strong enough and the cord is too short. It even claims you're not supposed to use any extension cords with it. The cord it came with doesn't even reach from the middle of my table where the pot is to the edge of the table. Who has outlets installed in their dining table? It also has a very wide bowl, which while nice for us 4 adults, means you need a pretty high volume of stuff in it compared to what most people want to eat at a fondue sitting.
It's pretty and could have been a great product, but it seems like user testing groups were nonexistent on this one.
