Product Description 3.5qt Fondue Pot- SS
Amazon.com Review Candle-heated fondues are quaint, but they can also be hard to get hot and messy to clean. This stainless-steel electric fondue from Rival is a fine-tunable, worry-free alternative, with an attractive shape and a 3-quart capacity to boot. Whether you're heating up a blend of Brie and Roquefort or melting down a box of chocolate truffles, it's easy to adjust the heat from warm to 400 degrees F using the detachable temperature dial. Stable and easy to transport, the pot has eight fork notches and comes with eight fondue forks, each tipped in a different color to avoid confusion. The 18/10 stainless steel is strong as well as beautiful, with a gleaming mirror finish. Remove the power cord and temperature gauge and you can immerse the whole pot for cleaning. For extra safety, Rival includes a magnetic breakaway plug that disconnects if the power cord is accidentally pulled or tugged. The set comes with a range of recipes, too, from tasty appetizers to delicious desserts. --Emily Bedard

favorable reveiw for the electric fondue August 28, 2010 devidas I never used the fondue for it's intended purpose. Instead use it as a boiler, steamer, fryer. It's great, I am on my third one. The electrical plug-in device goes bad after a few years of daily use. Again, very happy with it. They used to include a cover, but now a days they do not include one.
Easy to use/clean, heat up quickly June 5, 2010 Sparkly (Fairfax, VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had it many years. instead of chocolate and cheese, we actually use it for Chinese hot pot. It has worked perfectly for us. The best thing about it is the electric with temperature control. It heats up quickly, which is important for a Chinese hot pot as sliced meat is often still frozen when dipped in. Quickly cooked meat in a hot pot simply tastes better. I don't quite understand why the chord is made extremely short, probably more of a safety feature to prevent tangling. Anyway, it is not a big issue. I plan to get a second set to serve with non spicy broth.
Exactly what I was looking for June 4, 2010 W. R. Wing Rival isn't usually known as a high-end brand, and this was to be a birthday present. BUT, it was the ONLY fondue pot I could find that didn't have a Teflon lining. The linings all sound like good ideas until the fondue forks start to scratch them.
Rival Fondue Set April 18, 2010 A. Buys (Tucson, AZ, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Rival FD350S electric unit heats quickly and is easy to clean. The power cord is somewhat unusual and requires attention prior to use.
Best fondue pot! April 15, 2010 gnm (California USA) This fondue pot is fantastic! The best is that, being an electric pot, you can cook whatever you want right in the pot instead of cooking it on the stove and transferring it into the pot. It heats up very quickly and get the job done great. I've made both cheese and chocolate fondue in it. You can keep the pot on warm so it won't burn the fondue but can heat it up if the fondue starts to get too thick. It is very easy to clean and doesn't scratch. It is a great size and I've used it to feed parties from 2 to 8.
The only downside to this pot is that the electrical cord is rather short. It is long enough to be plugged in the kitchen while you are cooking, but not really while eating at the table. Unless you have an outlet on your dinner table, you will most likely need an extension cord if you want to keep the pot on while eating from it.
Overall, I would 100% recommend this pot to anyone looking for an easy to use pot.
